Institute Presentation

DRCMR – Danish Research Centre for Magnetic Resonance

The DRCMR is a major research centre within the field of biomedical MRI and houses several methodological research groups and multidisciplinary teams focused on unravelling the underlying mechanisms in brain development, aging and e.g., psychiatric, and neurological diseases. The DRCMR has a cutting-edge research infrastructure with seven MR scanners, including three 3T human clinical and a 7 Tesla scanner for human use, an EEG laboratory, two TMS laboratories, a Biosafety Level 2 animal laboratory, a 7T Bruker preclinical scanner, and a reader centre. The DRCMR has a strong profile in basic and applied MR research and the development and application of advanced data analyses and modelling algorithms as well as elucidating how therapeutic interventions act on the brain. Furthermore, it has a strong educational profile.

The DRCMR, together with CFIN (Center of Functionally Integrative Neuroscience, Aarhus University, Aarhus, Denmark), perform the neuroimaging (MRI, EEG and MEG) in the Danish High Risk and Resilience Study – VIA

CORE- Copenhagen Research Centre for Mental Health

CORE- Copenhagen Research Center for Mental Health has expertise in epidemiology, suicidal behavior, prevention in psychiatry, psychopathology and early intervention in psychosis.
CORE has been involved in iPSYCH, the Lundbeck Foundation Initiative for Integrative Psychiatric Research, which aims at investigating genetic and environmental causes of mental disorders. The initiation of the large Danish High Risk and Resilience Study VIA 7 is an important part of iPSYCH. This cohort of children at familial risk of mental disorders was followed up at age 11 (VIA 11) and age 15 (VIA15)

CNSR – Center for Neuropsychiatric Schizophrenia Research

CNSR is a clinical neuropsychiatric research group aiming to improve treatments of psychotic disorders. The focus is on multimodal of cohorts of antipsychotic-naïve patients with psychosis or at ultra-high risk for psychosis. Key assessments include psychopathology, cognition, EEG, and neuroimaging (MRI, MRS, PET).

COPSAC (COpenhagen Prospective Studies on Asthma in Childhood, Herlev-Gentofte Hospital, Capital Region, Denmark)

COPSYCH is a 5-year translational research alliance between COPSAC and CNSR initiated in January 2019. COPSYCH is based on the prospective COPSAC2010 birth cohort of 700 mother–child pairs. COPSAC2010 provides deep phenotyping data from 14 previous clinical follow-up visits and exposure assessments since birth. The COPSYCH 10-year outcomes are neurocognitive, psychopathological and MRI measures.
